Overview

This Course provides UNEM administrator knowledge to ensure the correct and reliable operation of the UNEM and the UNIX/LINUX platform. The capabilities of in-depth analysis of the UNEM operational environment using script files and other process-checking techniques are introduced. The comprehensive use of the in-built UNEM utility, NEMTool, is explained.

Administrator knowledge is required to create new users, check log files and perform other maintenance tasks. To do these tasks, the administrator uses basic UNIX/LINUX commands and must understand the principles of a distributed network. The participant will learn how to maintain the UNEM database, how to backup the database to tape, to file or to a remote workstation - and then how to restore the database.

Target Group

He will be able to use administration tools, and with a selected set of UNIX/LINUX commands will be able to work in a terminal session in UNIX/LINUX.

He will learn how to control the size of the log files and alarm files and how to remove and reopen these files. Finally, the participant will learn to create a new user with the relevant access rights.
