DZS to showcase innovations for broadband networks at the BBWF8. October 2019
DZS, the world’s leading provider of network access solutions, will be presenting its contribution to developing the gigabit society at this year’s Broadband World Forum under the banner of Shaping the Internet Connection Experience of the Future.
DZS will be presenting its portfolio for broadband access, 5G mobile xHaul and its enterprise and smart home solutions at the RAI Amsterdam exhibition centre. It will also focus on Software-Defined Networks (SDNs) by participating in SDN interoperability testing on the stand at the Broadband Forum.
The fibre access portfolio of solutions, consisting of leading access systems that address all fibre network configurations – including GPON, EPON, XGS-PON, NG-PON2, and 10EPON, enables communication service providers (CSPs) to select the right fibre deployment topology for their environments, delivered at bandwidth-intensive speeds of 10G and above. With modular and scalable systems, DZS’ portfolio of solutions future-proofs the CSPs’ network investments by offering advanced 10G services and drives further commercial value by providing freedom of choice without vendor lock-in.
In terms of 5G mobile back and front haul, DZS delivers a versatile micro-cloud platform that manages 3rd party applications of choice, transparently handling traffic from/to LTE and 5G networks at a native wire speed, built on cutting-edge NFV technologies.
Whole Home Wi-Fi from DZS delivers customers a superior, consistent Smart Home experience by maximizing the performance for all screens and devices.
DZS will also present its FiberLAN solution for passive optical LANs, a future-proof IT infrastructure that is economical, environmentally friendly and provides its customers with the highest bandwidths at every workstation. DZS is an expert in this industry-leading infrastructure, which meets the challenges of IT managers with traditional copper-based LANs.
DZS and other well-known manufacturers will be taking part in an interoperability demo on the stand at the Broadband Forum. The interoperability demo is all about a virtual central office: the CloudCO architecture increases flexibility and scalability when providing virtual network functions (VNFs). The goal is to create a flexible, scalable cloud-based broadband platform to guarantee interoperability between different vendors. The standardised OB-BAA interface component, which DZS will present at the BBWF, virtualises the access technologies of different vendors and integrates them into a software-defined ecosystem.
“We’re delighted to be exhibiting at the BBWF as one of the global leaders in FTTx,” comments Philip Yim, COO at DZS. “Our customers and the market are responding very positively to our freedom of choice approach, which enables OLT and ONT interoperability. This strategy allows communications service providers to build world-class FTTx networks based on a multi-vendor approach.”
