FTTH Conference 2018

29. January 2018

KEYMILE will showcase its extensive portfolio of solutions for powerful P2P and PON optical fibre networks at the FTTH Conference 2018 in Valencia, Spain, from 13 to 15 February. KEYMILE will be showing its new mini GPON OLTs for future-proof and economical development of small passive optical networks for the first time.

On stand S01 at the FTTH Conference 2018 in Feria Valencia, KEYMILE will be presenting the MileGate 3031 and 3032 mini GPON OLTs (Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network-Optical Line Terminator) as the latest members in MileGate’s GPON OLT family. This perfectly complements KEYMILE’s range of solutions for optical fibre networks.

The MileGate 3031 and 3032 mini GPON OLTs are compact nodes for small passive optical fibre networks. They provide eight or 16 GPON ports, allowing network operators to set up powerful optical fibre networks cost effectively in sparsely populated areas. Up to 128 termination points or 2048 subscribers can be connected to one port via a splitter. Thanks to their small sizes, the mini GPON OLTs can also be installed even where space is lacking.

In addition to products for passive optical networks, KEYMILE will use the Valencia showcase to present the MileGate 2012 G.fast/VDSL2 micro DSLAM for ultra-fast broadband in FTTB installations, which can also be used as a compact GPON ONU (Optical Network Unit).

A core characteristic of KEYMILE’s products is that they’re future-proof. Network operators can use the combination of FTTB and G.fast as a bridge to the optical fibre future. In PON’s case, the route passes from today’s GPON via XGS-PON (a symmetrical version of 10 Gbps) to NG-PON2 with 40 Gbps.

“Our GPON solutions allow network operators to set up small, medium and large passive optical fibre networks in PON structures,” explains Lothar Schwemm, KEYMILE’s CTO. “The current solutions have already been prepared for XGS-PON and NG-PON2 and therefore for high symmetrical data rates of the type that will soon be standard in many applications.”

KEYMILE is a leading provider of telecommunication systems for broadband access. The portfolio covers solutions for all types of FTTx network architectures: based on copper with VDSL/vectoring/G.fast technology and on optical fibre for active and passive optical fibre networks. Network operators worldwide use the products to provide top bandwidth to subscribers flexibly and cost-efficiently and to implement an open-source network architecture. Parallel operation of IP/Ethernet and TDM technology guarantees perfect migration to packet-based voice and data transmission. KEYMILE supports its customers with comprehensive services throughout the complete life cycle of a network. The company is headquartered in Hanover, Germany, with subsidiaries and partners worldwide and has installed systems in more than 100 countries.
