FTTH Conference 2017

2. February 2017

KEYMILE will be showcasing its solutions for economical and future-proof creation of FTTx infrastructure in Marseilles at the FTTH Conference 2017 from 14 to 16 February. Various scenarios will highlight how network operators can deliver the most suitable broadband services for corporate and residential customers in each case, based on the MileGate multi-service access platform.

KEYMILE is a recognised expert for innovative and future-proof broadband access via copper and optical fibre. It will be showing its product portfolio for high-speed broadband access via its MileGate multi-service access platform on stand S27 at the FTTH Conference 2017. MileGate enables the creation of highly flexible, reliable and future-proof FTTx network architectures from one single platform. MileGate provides all broadband technologies, from SHDSL to VDSL2 with vectoring to optical GbE- and GPON-connections.

At the trade show, the company will focus on MileGate 2012, a G.fast/VDSL2 vectoring node optimised for ultra-fast broadband in FTTB installations. Network operators can achieve data transmission rates of more than 1,000 Mbps in FTTH architectures; however FTTH isn’t the most cost-efficient solution for all applications. An equally powerful, but more economical alternative is the MileGate 2012 FTTB network node with eight G.fast interfaces. The G.fast 106 MHz profile means that network operators can achieve data rates of 1,000 Mbps via the existing copper wire pair in a building’s network. In addition to G.fast, MileGate also supports VDSL2 vectoring. The advantage to network operators: they can launch VDLS2 with or without vectoring and upgrade to G.fast if demand increases. Furthermore, by using different frequency bands, ADSL or VDSL2 signals can coexist on the same cable.

The MileGate fibre series’ target group is network operators who want to set up flexible optical fibre networks for households and companies. The MileGate Fibre Series is superb for FTTH/B applica-tions and supports both active and passive optical Ethernet from one single platform. The optical fibre solution has high port density for setting up complex FTTH/B infrastructure. Network operators can use the MileGate Fibre Series in an active P2P network to connect up to 480 residential subscribers via optical fibres. Cost-efficient GPON connection of a large number of households from one single 8 HU subrack is possible in a passive network (GPON).
